While the ROKiT British F4 Championship certified by the FIA heads into its final round of the season, the 2024 champion may have been crowned however there are still many stories to play out at Brands Hatch.
To date, with a weekend remaining, the 2024 season has spanned more than five months of intense competition, three countries, featured nine different tracks at seven circuits and served up nine individual winners across 26 races. A total of 14 drivers have reached the overall podium, with three having secured a C1rcuit Watches Pole Position Award.
The season finale is set to take place on the Brands Hatch GP circuit, a layout that hosted 12 Formula 1 Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986, with the ‘GP Loop’ renowned among drivers for its challenging nature and the total commitment it demands to master its 2.43 miles.
Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Deagen Fairclough goes into the weekend as provisional champion, having won both races at Silverstone’s National track last time out, the latter of which secured him a record twelfth in-season British F4 win.
Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic, who has been challenging Fairclough all through the season, will doubtless take the challenge once more to the 2024 champion, as with four races to be battled this weekend, there are still plenty of wins and points up for grabs to round off a highly competitive season that has to date seen him collect four wins and 16 podiums.
With Fairclough and Ninovic sitting comfortably at the top of the standings, third place is yet to be resolved with three drivers mathematically able to challenge for the championship’s third step. Rodin Motorsport’s James Higgins currently has a 17.5 point gap over Reza Seewooruthun (Hitech Pulse-Eight) in fourth, with Jack Sherwood (Rodin Motorsport) 11 points further back in fifth. All three drivers will doubtless be hotly contesting the season’s final races and looking to conclude their 2024 campaign on a high.
Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport) sits in sixth in the overall standings ahead of two time race winner, Leo Robinson (JHR Developments), Martin Molnar (Virtuosi Racing), Yuanpu Cui (Phinsys by Argenti) and Ella Lloyd (JHR Developments) rounding off the top 10.
There’s an incredibly tight battle for top honours in the Rookie Cup, with Virtuosi Racing’s Martin Molnar leading Phinsys by Argenti’s Yuanpu Cui by the tightest of margins, with the pair separated by just 2.5 points as they head into the final round.
Another championship to be decided at this weekend’s final round is the Team’s Cup. Hitech Pulse-Eight currently leads by 31.5 points over their closest rivals, Rodin Motorsport, who sit in second place. With plenty of points to play for, it will be another fascinating contest to watch and determine which way the pendulum will swing over the course of the weekend.
Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling and JHR Developments’ Ella Lloyd both return to ROKiT British F4 this weekend having missed the penultimate round due to a clash with F1 Academy. Pulling took two wins in Singapore and extended her F1 Academy Championship lead while Lloyd made her debut as a wild card.
Both drivers have each stood on the British F4 podium three times during this season, with Pulling having made history, becoming the first female to win a British F4 race, when the championship last visited Brands Hatch in May.
