Fortec Motorsport has made a late addition to its driver line-up for this weekend’s ROKiT British F4 Championship certified by FIA meeting at Silverstone, by announcing Marcos Flack will join the team.

Flack is no stranger to Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series, having graduated into the category for his single seater debut from karting in 2021. The 16-year-old quickly established himself as a front-runner, including podiums at Snetterton, Croft and Silverstone.

The Australian has raced a part-season in the GB3 Championship this season, including a breakthrough win at Silverstone in the summer, plus appearances state-side in the Indy Pro 2000 series and out on the continent in the Italian, Spanish and German F4 championships.

He will partner series newcomer James Higgins at Daventry-based Fortec, who fittingly also make their return to ROKiT British F4 this weekend at Silverstone [23-25 Sep] to gather experience ahead of a full-time presence on the grid in 2023.

“I’m looking forward to being back in ROKiT British F4, and to partner up with Fortec Motorsport,” said Flack.

“It’s a championship that I learnt a lot in last season, and I’ve got experience with the new Gen-2 car from racing in Italy and Germany this year. Fortec are a great team, and I’ve always run well at Silverstone, so the ingredients are there for us to have a good weekend.”

For Oliver Dutton, Fortec’s Team Manager, the deal with Flack represents a chance for the team to compete at the front from the get-go on their return to the championship.

“Marcos is a talented driver, and already a proven quantity at both this level, and the level above,” says Dutton. “So, we’ve no concerns he will be able to extract the most from the car.

“It’s also important for James’ development to have an experienced driver in alongside him, and Marcos’ experience will be equally valuable to our team at the track as we begin our programme for next year.

“We’re looking forward to working with him, and to be back out racing in F4 this weekend.”
