Chris Dittmann Racing lines up F1 Academy’s Jess Edgar for Zandvoort ROKiT British F4 weekend

Chris Dittmann Racing is delighted to confirm it will be fielding a second F1 Academy racer in the upcoming F4 British Championship meeting at Zandvoort, as Jess Edgar joins the team.

The 19-year-old comes from a motorsport family and first piloted a kart at the age of four, competing with success as she climbed the ranks, representing the United Kingdom at the FIA Motorsport Games in 2019.

Jess was twice selected for the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars scheme and made her car racing debut in the GB4 Championship in 2022, taking a podium finish at Oulton Park.

In 2023 she moved to F1 Academy, taking a maiden victory at Circuit of the Americas, alongside the United States Grand Prix. Returning to the series this year, she is backed by American Express and has secured a best finish to-date of fourth in Saudi Arabia, with eight races of the season left to run.

This weekend (July 12-14) Jess will be familiarising herself with Circuit Zandvoort alongside F1 Academy racer Carrie Schreiner, ahead of the series’ visit to the Netherlands in August.

Jess will link up with Carrie and Rookie Cup race-winner Bart Harrison for testing on Thursday July 11th, with qualifying taking place on Friday at 12:55 CEST (11:55 BST). Race one is scheduled for 09:50 (08:50) on Saturday, with race two at 15:30 (14:30), and the final contest on Sunday 14th at 13:40 (12:40).

Jess Edgar

“I’m pleased to announce that I will be racing at Zandvoort with Chris Dittmann Racing as it is my favourite track, so I’m super excited to be competing there twice this year. Entering British F4 is a great opportunity for me have more seat time so I can be as prepared for my 2024 campaign in F1 Academy. Hopefully, we can do well and carry on the strong results the team already has had.”

Chris Dittmann

“We’re very happy to be welcoming Jess to the team for the visit to Zandvoort. It will be a baptism of fire for her to get up to speed quickly, but we’ll do all we can to work with her so she feels comfortable in what will be a new car for her to drive. The focus for Jess is to be prepared for her F1 Academy races like Carrie, so we’ll help build her knowledge throughout the weekend.”
