British F4 to race at Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix in 2027

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, is set to make more history in 2027 following confirmation that the series will support the Formula 1 MSC Cruises Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

In the latest milestone chapter in the story of the UK’s premier single-seater series, British F4 will take centre stage at the legendary venue for the first time on the weekend of 23–25 July next year.

Further cementing its status as the first step on the single-seater pathway, the event will mark the second time that Britain’s Formula 4 category has raced on the Formula 1 schedule, following its appearance at Silverstone in 2025.

Unlike that occasion, the Belgian Grand Prix weekend will be a full championship-scoring event, with two races scheduled across the Saturday and Sunday.

As the only national Formula 4 series set to support Formula 1 next year, the addition of one of the world’s most iconic circuits to the British F4 calendar* underlines the series’ growing international appeal.

Furthermore, the addition of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will enable a worldwide audience to witness the next generation of racing stars as they bid to follow in the footsteps of alumni such as 2025 World Champion Lando Norris and his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri.

Eve Lake-Grange, British F4 Championship Manager: “There is no bigger stage than Formula 1, so it is fantastic to be able to make yet more history with the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, and race in Belgium next year.

“Since our guest appearance at the British Grand Prix in 2025, we have been working hard behind the scenes to secure a return to the Formula 1 support bill. This time, there is the added emphasis of it being an official championship round, too, which is hugely exciting.

“We pride ourselves on being the first step on the pathway to Formula 1, and for our drivers to be able to see the potential career pathway ahead of them while competing on the same weekend is hugely important.

“While the dust is only just settling on this year’s season, the level of interest and excitement among teams and drivers has already been incredible. It promises to be an unforgettable event, and we’re looking forward to putting on a show at one of the world’s most iconic circuits.”
