Chris Dittmann Racing have made their second British F4 driver announcement for 2025, as talented young British racer Tommy Harfield joins the team.
The 16-year-old from Worcestershire was part of CDR’s driver development programme last year, taking part in multiple test days to build his knowledge and understanding of the car.
Tommy began karting at the age of nine, winning club races and championships in Honda Cadet before moving to the mini X30 British Kart Championship, finishing inside the top 10. He then took multiple wins and podiums in Junior Rotax before seeking a new challenge.
In 2024, alongside his work with Chris Dittmann Racing, he made his car racing debut in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship. Regularly qualifying on the front row, he claimed back-to-back victories at Croft, before a hand injury forced him to miss the final three rounds of the season.
Tommy Harfield: “I’m super excited to move to the F4 British Championship this year. Chris Dittmann Racing have made me feel so welcome and I have some amazing people helping me to learn and adjust. It’s very different from the front wheel drive Fiesta, but the last two guys that made this step went on to win in F4 and become Silverstone Autosport BRDC Award winners, so maybe this is the route to take! I’m getting more and more comfortable every time I drive the car and even though it’s a big step, I fully intend to be pushing for strong results from the start of the season.”
Chris Dittmann, Team Principal: “We’re really pleased to have Tommy join our F4 British Championship line-up this season. He’s been working hard as part of our driver development programme, and his performances in the Fiesta Junior Championship last year showed his natural talent and determination. F4 is a big step, and it’s going to be a competitive grid, but Tommy has a great attitude and is eager to learn. We’re looking forward to seeing him develop throughout the season and push for strong results.”
