Chase Fernandez will step up to the ROKiT British F4 Championship certified by FIA in 2025 after signing with Xcel Motorsport.
The talented teenager is the third driver to be announced by the UAE-based team for next season, with Theo Palmer and Cole Hewtson having already been confirmed to be racing in the UK’s premier single-seater series.
Enjoying unprecedented success across varying levels of karting as a youngster, Fernandez’s graduation to car racing came towards the end of 2022 when he convincingly won the coveted Ginetta Junior Scholarship.
Winning a fully-funded campaign in the Ginetta Junior Championship for 2023, Fernandez scored four wins and a further five podium finishes in his debut season before upping the ante when he returned in 2024.
In a hotly contested season that saw Fernandez stand on the step of the podium on seven occasions, the British driver was crowned vice-champion after narrowly missing out on clinching the Drivers’ Championship.
Now embarking on the latest chapter of his fledgling career, Fernandez goes into the 2025 season with the benefit of having had some single-seater experience following an appearance in the F4 Spanish Championship earlier this month. He will also feature for Xcel in the 2024 F4 UAE Trophy Series.
Team Manager Paul Hardy expressed his enthusiasm for Chase’s arrival:
“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Chase to the team. His performances in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year were outstanding. Chase is a natural talent, and we’re confident he has what it takes to challenge at the front in both the F4UAE Trophy Series and the British F4 Championship. We’re excited to support his development and watch him grow into one of the stars of the future.”
