2023 ROKiT British F4 Rookie Champion Gustav Jonsson set for Chris Dittmann Racing return

Chris Dittmann Racing is very happy to announce that current F4 British Championship Rookie title holder Gustav Jonsson will make a return to the team this weekend (September 20-22).

The 18-year-old from Sundbyberg, just outside of Stockholm, joined the team for the 2023 season and drove fantastically, finishing the campaign with 11 Rookie Cup wins, and 13 further podiums, while being the first Swedish driver to claim the Rookie title.

This year Gustav has been competing in Europe, in the Italian F4 Championship, where he is seventh in the standings with two podiums, and the Euro 4 Championship, where he is fourth in the title battle, with three podium finishes.

The Swede started racing in 2017, karting in the MKR Series Sweden in the Junior 60 class and going on to progress through the categories in the Swedish Championship each year from 2019 to 2022, before making his single seater debut with Chris Dittmann Racing in British F4.

Gustav and regular series driver Bart Harrison will have two 45-minute practice sessions to dial themselves in on the Silverstone National circuit, before qualifying and the first contest of the weekend on Saturday September 21st. Races two and three are set for Sunday, with live coverage of the final race at 13:30 on ITV4 and ITV Sport TikTok worldwide.

Gustav Jonsson

“I am very happy to come back to the British F4 paddock together with Chris Dittmann Racing, who I started my formula racing journey with. It will be a bit of a change with the car and weather compared to what I have been used to this year in Europe, but I’m looking forward to going back to Silverstone this weekend. I am sure we can put up a good fight and I will be trying my best to bring home some good results for the team.”

Chris Dittmann

“It’s great to welcome Gustav back to the team, especially as the current F4 British Championship Rookie Cup title holder. He performed extremely well with us last year and it’s no surprise to see him continue to drive well in Europe this season. On the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit last year, he finished inside the top eight in all three races, so we’ll be working hard to make sure he and Bart have the very best weekend possible.”
