2022 British F4 champion Alex Dunne has made the step up into Formula 2 for 2025, joining Rodin Motorsport for his maiden season.
The Irishman raced in Formula 3 last season with MP Motorsport, achieving two podiums with the team in his rookie campaign. Following the end of the F3 season, he participated in the three-day F2 test with Rodin Motorsport in Abu Dhabi.
Dunne, who joined the McLaren Driver Development programme in May last year, was also recently announced as NEOM McLaren Formula E Team’s Reserve and Development Driver for season 11, and will be taking part in the upcoming Formula E Rookie Test with the team.
19-year-old Dunne said: “I’m pleased to be able to confirm my plans for the 2025 season, which will see me joining Rodin Motorsport and participating in Formula 2.
“I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and thankful for everyone’s support in getting me to this stage – I can’t wait to hit the ground running.”
In his title-winning British F4 campaign with Hitech Pulse-Eight in 2022, Dunne broke the win record at the time with 11 victories, and finished with 17 podiums overall.
