The 2025 Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA has proven to be competitive this season – with five different race winners and 11 different podiums finishers – so high-speed thrills are all-but guaranteed as the series speeds into Thruxton this weekend.
Three more races will play out around the Hampshire venue across Saturday and Sunday, with each of them set to be crucial when it comes to the battle for the coveted single-seater crown.
Renowned for being the fastest circuit in the UK, Thruxton is like no other track on the calendar and it will see this year’s crop of Formula 4 combatants at full-throttle for much of the 2.36-mile lap – so expect to see plenty of slipstreaming and wheel-to-wheel battles play out.
A maiden victory last time out at Snetterton propelled rookie Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR) to top of the standings, but the Red Bull Junior will need to be at his best to maintain his advantage over the chasing pack.
Martin Molnár (Virtuosi Racing) plus multiple race winners Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) and August Raber (Argenti Motorsport) have already flexed their title credentials this season, trailing the leader by only a handful of points.
Others to look out for include Challenge Cup leader Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing), two-time victor Adam Al Azhari (Rodin Motorsport), Henry Joslyn (Fortec Motorsport), Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport) and Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR).
At JHR Developments, Rowan Campbell-Pilling and Joel Bergström have impressed, while Leo Robinson and Xavier Avramides – who bolster Hitech TGR’s line-up – have also turned out some head-turning performances.
Xcel Motorsport boasts race-winner Chase Fernandez alongside Theo Palmer – who impressed with his first Rookie Cup win at Snetterton – Cole Hewetson and Yuhao Fu. Henry Mercier and Ella Lloyd will look to make their mark under the Argenti Motorsport and Rodin Motorsport banners respectively.
The aforementioned Harfield isn’t the only driver to race out of Chris Dittmann Racing as both Charlie Edge and Alba Larsen will be hoping to achieve their best results of the season this weekend.
Thruxton will also see three new drivers make their eagerly-anticipated debut in British F4.
Fortec Motorsports add two to their line-up in GB4 duo Ary Bansal and Thomas Ingram Hill. Both 15 years old, Bansal – from Bangalore, India – started his single seater journey in Spanish F4 at the end of 2024, and is already a race winner in GB4 this year with victory at Donington Park.
Meanwhile, Ingram Hill hails from Wiltshire and will be eager to impress at his home track, after a number of points finishes this season and some good experience gained in Ginetta Juniors last year.
Over at Virtuosi Racing, Colombian driver Salim Hanna will race at selected British F4 rounds this season alongside his Italian F4 campaign, and Thruxton will be the setting for the 15-year-old’s maiden appearance.
Qualifying for the C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award takes place at 09:00 on Saturday before Race 1 and Race 2 get underway later that afternoon at 12:55 and 16:15 respectively.
Sunday’s race will be broadcast live on ITV4 and ITVX at 13:40 in the UK and live streamed outside the UK on the championship’s YouTube channel.
