Salim Hanna capped off a dream weekend in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA at Silverstone this morning as he charged to a second successive victory at the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025 Silverstone support race.

Closing out a historic weekend for the UK’s premier single-seater series at the Home of British Motor Racing, the Virtuosi Racing driver demonstrated why he is an undoubted star of the future as he made it two wins from two races in front of a capacity crowd.

Joining the Colombian driver on the iconic podium this time was Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing) and Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments) – who both battled valiantly to finish second and third respectively.

It was Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR) that started race two from pole position; however, despite maintaining the race lead as the lights went out, it quickly became apparent that the Red Bull Junior driver was struggling for pace.

Race one winner Hanna jumped Harfield on the run down to the first corner, and once up to second, he soon began to fill the mirrors of McLaughlin. The 15-year-old did show his nose on a handful of occasions early on, but McLaughlin quickly responded by slamming the door shut.

The decisive move for the lead came on lap four as Hanna enjoyed a superior run through Copse to draw alongside McLaughlin and, with his car positioned for the inside line at Maggots, he swept past the Irishman to claim first place.

Once in clean air, Hanna began to stretch his advantage around the 3.66-mile circuit as he pulled clear to triumph by almost six seconds. He also tallied the fastest lap of the race for good measure as well.

Things would sadly go from bad to worse for McLaughlin, as just a few corners on from Hanna overtaking him, Harfield steamed down the inside of him at Club to take second. That in-turn presented Campbell-Pilling with the opportunity to snare third place down the Hamilton Straight.

Unfortunately for McLaughlin, his race would come to a premature end some laps later as he was forced into the pit lane due to his car suffering from a terminal mechanical issue.

His demise opened the door for his Hitech TGR team-mate Thomas Bearman to clinch fourth place after going wheel-to-wheel with Martin Molnár (Virtuosi Racing) – who bounced back from a three-place grid penalty after being deemed to be at fault for an incident in race one.

The battle for the remaining spots inside the top ten had those watching trackside and on Sky Sports F1 captivated, as positions continued to change on a lap-by-lap basis. Indian racer Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport) reigned supreme to come out on top in the end to secure sixth place.

Race one runner-up and Mercedes F1 Junior Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport), series debutant Oleksandr Savinkov (Virtuosi Racing). Leo Robinson (Hitech TGR), and McLaren Development Driver Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport) filled the remaining spots inside the top ten.

Further down the order, previous race winners August Raber (Argenti Motorsport) and Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) also found themselves in the thick of the action and finishing hot on the heels of the aforementioned Lloyd.

Following post-race judicial, Rowan Campbell-Pilling dropped from third place to fourth, with Thomas Bearman inheriting the remaining podium position.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA will continues its 2025 season – where points will once again be on offer – on July 26-27 when Zandvoort in the Netherlands stages Rounds 16, 17 & 18. All races will be live streamed on the British F4 YouTube channel.

Salim Hanna wrote his name into the history books of the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA at Silverstone today, as he charged to a sensational lights-to-flag victory on the support bill of the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025.

Taking centre stage in front of a sell-out crowd at the Home of British Motor Racing, the Virtuosi Racing driver was the cream of the crop in the UK’s premier single-seater series as he claimed the biggest win of his fledgling career to-date.

Joining Hanna on the world-famous podium was Mercedes F1 Junior Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport) and Red Bull Junior Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR), who finished second and third respectively in what proved to be a frenetic 25-minute + one lap opening encounter.

After getting dialled into the 3.66-mile circuit during Friday’s practice session, drivers hit the track for qualifying first thing in the morning and it was McLaughlin that paced the opposition to snare his second C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award of the year.

The Irishman set a best time of 2:00.832 – a new lap record no less – to secure a front-row start for race two with Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing), Martin Molnár (Virtuosi Racing), Hanna and Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR) completing the top five behind him.

While McLaughlin claimed the bragging rights for clinching top spot in qualifying, second fastest lap times decided the grid for race one, and that meant Hanna and Jeff-Hall locked out row one.

As the lights went out it was Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments) that emerged as the one to watch from third place as he first dispatched Jeff-Hall off the line and then produced a stunning late braking move down the inside of Hanna at Brooklands on lap one.

Leading the field down the Wellington Straight, Campbell-Pilling had hoped to break clear of the chasing pack; however, a small moment through Becketts and into Chapel sent him into a spin and left him stranded at the side of the track.

That incident, in addition to contact earlier in the lap which resulted in Ella Lloyd requiring a visit to the pit lane, saw the Lotus Emira Safety Car appear to neutralise proceedings.

On the restart, Colombian native Hanna initially soaked up an abundance of pressure from Jeff-Hall, but after covering off the former Ginetta Junior and FIA World Karting champion, he soon punched in the fastest lap of the race and began to stretch his legs to build up a small advantage.

With victory in sight, Hanna controlled the pace out front while Jeff-Hall settled for his best result to-date in British F4. McLaughlin, meanwhile, had to contend with a late charge from Harfield but did enough to secure the third step on the podium.

Challenge Cup front-runner Harfield crossed the line in fourth ahead of Bearman and Theo Palmer (Xcel Motorsport) – who had ran nose-to-tail for much of the bout – while Molnár bounced back from a sluggish start to charge back up the order and finish seventh.

Completing the top ten was Adam Al Azhari (Rodin Motorsport), Leo Robinson (Hitech TGR) and the impressive Yuhao Fu (Xcel Motorsport).

Further down the order, Virtuosi Racing’s Oleksandr Savinkov emerged as the highest-placed finisher of the drivers featuring for the first time in 2025, crossing the line in 12th.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA’s final race of the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX weekend at Silverstone is scheduled to take place at 08:20 on Sunday.

Race two – which again will be 25 minutes + one lap in distance – will be broadcast LIVE on Sky Sports F1 and the official British F4 YouTube channel.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA will write the latest chapter in its illustrious history this weekend (July 4-6), as the UK’s premier single-seater series prepares to take centre stage at the 2025 Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix.

In what is guaranteed to be a ground-breaking event at the Home of British Motor Racing, Silverstone, British F4 will underline its status as the first step on the single-seater pathway as it races on the same bill as Formula 1, Formula 2 and Formula 3 for the first time ever.

With an expected 480,000 fans set to flock through the gates over the course of the weekend, the championship is poised to put on a spectacular show – with a single practice session followed by qualifying and two non-points scoring races.

While championship points may not be on offer, the bragging rights of winning on a Formula 1 weekend will no doubt be more than enough to motivate the bumper grid set to go wheel-to-wheel across Saturday and Sunday.

Twenty drivers who have already raced in the championship this season will be joined by six additional drivers new to the action this year.

Hitech TGR head to Silverstone armed with an expanded driver line-up, spearheaded by talented Irishman Fionn McLaughlin. The Red Bull Junior driver is currently leading the championship and will be seeking to continue his dazzling form into this weekend.

Thomas Bearman – younger brother of British F1 star Ollie – is the newest driver to join the list of British F4 race-winners, after triumphing in the final contest at Oulton Park two weeks ago. He’ll be joined by second-year driver and fellow race-winner Leo Robinson, who represents his maternal country of Algeria, and Australian rookie Xavier Avramides.

Making her return to the championship is Dutch driver Nina Gademan, following her rookie season in 2024. After featuring for Hitech in the Formula Winter Series earlier this year, she has embarked on a maiden campaign in F1 Academy.

Rodin Motorsport have also bolstered their entry for this special one-off event, and hopes will be high after they took a clean sweep of three race victories at Silverstone GP earlier on this season.

Australian second-year driver Jimmy Piszcyk qualified on pole – setting a new lap record in the process – and took two wins, with his team-mate Adam Al Azhari of the UAE collecting the other that weekend. They will surely be keen for a repeat performance in front of a massive audience.

McLaren Development Driver Ella Lloyd, who recently picked up a trio of P2 finishes over in F1 Academy, missed out on the earlier trip to Silverstone. The Welshwoman will be relishing this opportunity to race at the scene of her first British F4 podium last year.

Also joining the Rodin team this weekend is Guy Albag of Israel, who has been racing in Italian F4 this season.

Virtuosi Racing are also fielding a race-winning duo in Martin Molnár and Salim Hanna. Molnár, who sits just a handful of points behind leader McLaughlin in the championship, is in his second British F4 campaign after winning the Rookie Cup in 2024, and the Hungarian has been one of the most consistent drivers this year.

Hanna, meanwhile, became the first driver from Colombia to race in the championship in a hugely impressive first event at Thruxton, where he picked up a race win and two further points finishes.

Adding a third car out on track, Virtuosi have recruited Ukrainian driver Oleksandr Savinkov, another current Italian F4 driver to join the grid this weekend.

Over at Argenti Motorsport, August Raber has been one of the series’ leading lights this year with three wins, and the Swede will undoubtedly be one to watch as he continues a stellar second campaign in the championship.

His team-mate and Mercedes F1 Junior driver Ethan Jeff-Hall, one of several British drivers on the grid, will also be looking to build a promising start to his first year in the championship, which so far includes a podium finish at Snetterton.

Fortec Motorsport will be fielding four cars at the event; and with six podiums to his name already this season, British racer Henry Joslyn will be leading their charge.

Ary Bansal of India and Brit Thomas Ingram Hill, who both joined the championship later on in the season, will also race in the red and white livery. New addition Emily Cotty completes their line-up; the British driver returning after making her championship debut at Silverstone last year.

Rowan Campbell-Pilling is the most experienced driver of the JHR Developments team featuring this weekend, competing in his second British F4 season with a podium finish already at Silverstone in 2025. He is joined by Esmee Kosterman, another female Dutch racer on the grid, who made her British F4 debut at Silverstone in May.

Chris Dittmann Racing have their British duo Tommy Harfield – already a three-time podium finisher – and rookieCharlie Edge ready to represent them once more this weekend. Adding to the team is American Ava Dobson, who has featured in GB4 and F1 Academy this year.

And finally, Xcel Motorsport will also field three drivers; British-born UAE-based Theo Palmer, who has several rookie podiums so far in 2025; second-year driver Yuhao Fu of China; and newcomer Jaber Alsabah, who hails from Kuwait and steps up from their karting team.

Teams and drivers will hit the iconic Silverstone tarmac for the first time on Friday (July 4) at 17:45 for a single practice session, before qualifying then sets the grid at 08:10 on Saturday (July 5).

Following Formula 1 qualifying later that afternoon, the first 25-minute + one lap race of the weekend will begin at 17:00 and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Mix and the official British F4 YouTube channel.

British F4 will then have the honour of kicking off the final day of action at Silverstone on Sunday (July 6) with race two scheduled to commence at 08:20. This second unmissable contest will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1 and YouTube.

20 drivers from the current 2025 grid of the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA will feature in the non-points-scoring round as a support bill at the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025 weekend at Silverstone on 4-6 July.

The line-up includes the top 12 drivers currently in the championship standings, ensuring that the on-track action will be as fierce and competitive as the five rounds of the season so far.

Several new drivers are also set to be confirmed and announced in due course.

The 20 drivers are as follows:

Hitech TGR

Rodin Motorsport

Virtuosi Racing

Argenti Motorsport

Fortec Motorsport

JHR Developments

Chris Dittmann Racing

Xcel Motorsport

Jimmy Piszcyk and Thomas Bearman produced a stellar Sunday showing to claim a win apiece in the remaining two races of the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA at Oulton Park.

Race two – the weekend’s reverse grid contest – saw Piszcyk make a return to winning ways as he claimed a commanding lights-to-flag victory ahead of Henry Mercier (Argenti Motorsport) and August Raber (Argenti Motorsport).

At the beginning of the contest, it was Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments) that made a flying start as he went from sixth to first, though it quickly became apparent that he had launched off the line before the lights had gone out.

Before being hit with a five-second time penalty, the sophomore racer out-braked himself as he led the field down to the Island Hairpin, ultimately dropping towards the rear of the pack.

Campbell-Pilling’s drop down the order allowed Piszcyk to hit the front, and once in the lead he didn’t look back as he continuously extended his advantage over Raber and Mercier while the clock ticked down to zero.

Raber was also deemed to have jumped the start and received a five-second penalty, meaning him and team-mate Mercier swapped positions in the standings post-race.

Nevertheless, another top-three finish provided a welcome boost to the Swede’s challenge for championship glory; for Mercier it was a race to remember as he claimed his first overall podium and a maiden Rookie Cup victory in the series.

Mercedes F1 Junior Ethan Jeff-Hall made it three Argenti Motorsport machines inside the top four, as he punched in a strong showing, whilst Bearman (Hitech TGR) bounced back from a non-finish on Saturday to complete the top five.

Campbell-Pilling’s determination to make amends for earlier errors saw him secure the fastest lap of the race.

Finishing hot on the heels of Bearman was Henry Joslyn (Fortec Motorsport) and Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR) – who moved to the top of the Drivers’ Championship after Virtuosi Racing’s Martin Molnár encountered mechanical issues.

Completing the top ten was Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport), Theo Palmer (Xcel Motorsport) and Adam Al Azhari (Rodin Motorsport).

Bearman then brought the curtain down on the weekend in style as he mastered the challenging conditions to claim a maiden win in the UK’s premier single-seater series, ahead of Joslyn and Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport).

The race began in dry conditions and it was McLaughlin that made the better start from the front row as he leapfrogged Molnár. Breaking clear, he quickly built up a lead, but attention soon began to turn towards the skies as dark clouds gathered.

Just a handful of laps into the contest, the heavens opened, with every driver showcasing their talents behind the wheel as they each slithered their slick-shod machines in ever-worsening track conditions.

As the first driver on the scene at every corner, McLaughlin was caught out as he skated into the gravel at Druids, and he was followed by a host of other drivers including Molnár and Raber.

While all three drivers were able to rejoin the circuit – albeit McLaughlin with a broken front wing – more drama was set to unfold, as Bansal hit strife coming under the pit-straight bridge and impacted the pit wall.

Thankfully he was able to walk away unscathed, and with the appearance of the safety car, proceedings were neutralised, giving everyone the opportunity to take stock of who was where in the running order.

Bearman was the main beneficiary as he was propelled to first, while Joslyn and Fernandez followed him into second and third.

Neither driver would ultimately be able to launch a meaningful challenge on Bearman, as the safety car made a second appearance soon after the restart. With conditions continuing to deteriorate, the red flags were waved and the result was declared – albeit with half points awarded.

That meant Bearman became the ninth different winner of the season, while Joslyn and Fernandez chalked up a podium apiece. Piszcyk finished in fourth while Al Azhari, McLaughlin, Mercier, Raber, Molnár and Campbell-Pilling completed the top ten.

McLaughlin scored an all-important additional championship point, having scored the race’s fastest lap.

Leaving Oulton Park, McLaughlin holds a 5.5-point lead over Molnár in the Drivers’ Championship whilst Piszcyk is a further 31 in arrears. McLaughlin also heads the Rookie Cup, while Hitech TGR have extended their advantage in the Teams’ Cup.

Chris Dittmann Racing’s Tommy Harfield continues to top the table in the Challenge Cup.

Next up for the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is a visit to the Home of British Motor Racing, Silverstone, for a historic appearance on the support bill of the 2025 Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix.

Both races of the weekend will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and livestreamed globally on the championship’s YouTube channel.

Fionn McLaughlin closed the gap to Martin Molnár at the top of the standings in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA after charging to victory in the opening race of the weekend at Oulton Park.

The Hitech TGR driver made a lightning start from the outside of the front row to jump Molnár (Virtuosi Racing) on lap one; and once out front, he capably controlled the race on his way to a second win of the season.

Victory for the Red Bull Junior driver now means that McLaughlin heads into Sunday’s two remaining races around the picturesque Cheshire venue trailing Molnár by just four points.

Following a frenetic Friday of practice, qualifying on Saturday morning saw championship leader Molnár come flying out of the blocks as he powered his way to his first C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award.

Setting a best time of 1:20.08 around the 2.223-mile Island layout – a new British F4 record – the Hungarian topped the timesheets midway through the session and was ultimately never toppled. Pole position was then guaranteed when the heavens opened with a few minutes remaining.

McLaughlin emerged as the closest challenger to Molnár in second, whilst Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport), Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport) and Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR) completed the top five.

Race one would see action play out as soon as the lights turned green, as a number of sluggish starts caused a chain reaction through the field, resulting in a handful of cars making contact and the red flags being waved.

When the dust settled, the quintet of Fernandez, Bearman, August Raber (Argenti Motorsport), Theo Palmer (Xcel Motorsport) and Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments) had all sustained race-ending damage.

On the restart, Rookie Cup front-runner McLaughlin and Molnár made equal starts, but the Irishman soon edged his way into the lead, one that he would ultimately never relinquish.

Although McLaughlin had broken clear of his championship rival, the distance between the pair ebbed and flowed between half and one second as the race wore on – although it never really got closer than that, as they continuously traded the fastest lap of the race. It was McLaughlin that secured an additional and crucial championship point with that fastest lap of the race.

As McLaughlin and Molnár swept their way to the top two spots on the podium, Joslyn bounced back from a slow start to clinch third place, whilst Challenge Cup leader Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing) got the better of Bansal to snare fourth place.

Further back, Leo Robinson (Hitech TGR) enjoyed a relatively trouble-free drive to finish in sixth ahead of Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport), Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport), Yuhao Fu (Xcel Motorsport) and Cole Hewetson (Xcel Motorsport).

Races two and three of the Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA at Oulton Park are scheduled to take place at 13:05 and 16:05 respectively on Sunday, with both races forming part of ITV4 and ITVX’s free-to-air coverage that commences at 11:35 BST.

Both contests will also be broadcast live on the official British F4 YouTube channel for those watching outside the UK.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA reaches the halfway point of the 2025 season at Oulton Park this weekend (21-22 June) and with the lead contenders separated by very little in the points, the battle for supremacy is only set to intensify.

So far this year, the action in the UK’s premier single-seater series has been fast, furious and ul-tra-competitive – a statement that is reinforced by the fact that eight different drivers have won a race and a further six have stood on the podium.

Martin Molnár (Virtuosi Racing) arrives in Cheshire as the driver to beat – and he has momentum on his side too after claiming a maiden British F4 win at Thruxton last time out. The Hungarian will be a force to be reckoned with, and he’ll need to be given the calibre of the chasing pack.

Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR) will be looking to bounce back from a frustrating weekend at Thruxton, while Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) is eager to get back to winning ways as he tries to close the gap to the top.

August Raber (Argenti Motorsport) is another driver to have tasted the spoils of victory and he, along with Henry Joslyn (Fortec Motorsport) and Challenge Cup leader Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing), are guaranteed to be ones to watch during this weekend’s triple-header.

Hot on the heels of the top six are a number of leading lights that will be aiming high; they include race winners Adam Al Azhari (Rodin Motorsport) and Leo Robinson (Hitech TGR), as well as Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR) and Mercedes F1 Junior Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport).

JHR Developments’ Rowan Campbell-Pilling has shown plenty of speed this year, but good for-tune has so far alluded him – something he’ll want to change. He’ll be worth keeping an eye on; as will Donington Park race winner Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport) competing at his home cir-cuit.

Fernandez isn’t the only driver at Xcel Motorsport as joining the Ginetta Junior graduate is the talented trio of Theo Palmer, Cole Hewetson and Yuhao Fu. The stacked entry list doesn’t stop there though, with a number of other drivers that can have their say towards the front of the field.

Xavier Avramides (Hitech TGR), F1 Academy race winner and McLaren-backed driver Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport), Henry Mercier (Argenti Motorsport), Alba Larsen (Chris Dittmann Racing) and Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport) – who debuted last time out at Thruxton – will all look to make their mark.

Qualifying for the C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award takes place at 11:25 on Saturday be-fore Race 1 gets underway later that afternoon at 16:15. Two more races – at 13:05 and 16:05 – will then play out on Sunday.

Fans in the UK can tune in to ITV and ITVX to watch live on Sunday, while those following around the world will be able to watch Sunday’s races live on the official British F4 YouTube channel – with the action being geoblocked to the UK and North America.

The Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by the FIA can today announce that an agreement has been reached that will see Sky Sports broadcast both Formula 4 races at next month’s FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS BRITISH GRAND PRIX 2025.

In what is poised to be a groundbreaking event at Silverstone on July 3-6, the UK’s premier single-seater series will benefit from unprecedented television coverage as Sky Sports airs every historic moment around the Home of British Motor Racing on the Saturday and Sunday of the race weekend.

Furthermore, fans of Britain’s Formula 4 category will also have the opportunity to tune in and watch both rounds via the championship’s official YouTube channel.

Seismic for a number of reasons, British F4’s debut at the British Grand Prix will mark the first time in history that Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4 have all competed at the same event.

Teams and drivers will hit the track for the first time on Friday 4th July at 17:45 for a single practice session before qualifying sets the grid at 07:55 on Saturday 5th July.

Following Formula 1 qualifying later that afternoon, the first 25-minute + one lap race of the weekend will begin at 16:45 and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Mix – which brings some of the worlds biggest sporting events to Sky TV customers in the UK and Ireland at no extra cost.

British F4 will then have the honour of kicking off the final day of action at Silverstone on Sunday 6th July with race two scheduled to commence at 08:20. This second unmissable contest will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.

“To have our races at Silverstone broadcast across Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports Mix – in addition to our own YouTube channel – is just the cherry on top of what is going to be an event to remember,” said Eve Lake-Grange, British F4 Championship Manager.

“The response we have had from teams, drivers and supporters since we announced that we will be competing on the support bill of Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix has been incredible and I’ve no doubt that this news will be welcomed by everyone.  Already there’s a terrific entry list building and with Sky’s coverage, I’m sure we’ll see even more interest.

“Having the opportunity to compete in front of an expected 480,000 fans at the track is one thing but to now be racing in front of millions more on Sky Sports underpins just how much of a huge opportunity and experience this will be for our teams and drivers”.

Salim Hanna signed off his maiden outing in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA in style by claiming a commanding lights-to-flag victory in the third and final race of the weekend at Thruxton Circuit.

Making his debut in the UK’s premier single-seater series, the Colombian driver was perfection personified, leading home a Virtuosi Racing one-two as Martin Molnár and Fortec Motorsport’s Henry Joslyn completed the podium.

With bright sunshine replacing the heavy rain showers of the day before at the high-speed Hampshire venue, Hanna made the most of his front-row start by sweeping around the outside of polesitter Joslyn as the lights went out.

Leading the field through the Complex, Hanna wasted no time in beginning to stretch his advantage out front, while his team-mate and race one winner Molnár and Hitech TGR’s Fionn McLaughlin settled into a groove, both having bested Joslyn off the start line.

McLaughlin became the one to watch during the opening exchanges but a small mistake, where he dropped a wheel on the grass at Goodwood, lost the Red Bull Junior driver many places, as he dropped down the order from second to 11th.

Soon, however, the safety car would make an appearance as the cars of Thomas Bearman (Hitech TGR), Joel Bergström (JHR Developments) and Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport) needed to be recovered following contact at the exit of the Club Chicane.

At the restart, Hanna again got his head down and began to build up an initial small advantage, and that would only grow over the subsequent laps as Molnár and Joslyn become embroiled in a captivating back-and-forth battle for the remaining podium positions.

Joslyn found a way past last year’s Rookie Cup title winner at the Complex but Molnár struck back immediately as they streamed around the second half of the lap. Once back past, he would hold station to finish second behind Hanna, while earning the fastest lap, with Joslyn secured third.

Adam Al Azhari (Rodin Motorsport) and August Raber (Argenti Motorsport) enjoyed a relatively trouble-free drive to finish fourth and fifth whilst Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) charged forward to take the chequered flag in sixth.

Completing the top ten was an almighty scrap which saw Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport) fend off the recovering McLaughlin, Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport) and debutant Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsport).

Before the race was finished, there was further drama towards the rear of the field as Challenge Cup front-runner Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing) and Theo Palmer (Xcel Motorsport) coming together at the Complex.

Leaving Thruxton, Molnár nows sits atop the Drivers’ Championship holding a ten-point lead over McLaughlin, who in-turn continues to lead the way in the Rookie Cup.

Hitech TGR control the Teams’ Cup, with Harfield leading his Chris Dittmann Racing team-mates Charlie Edge and Alba Larsen in the Challenge Cup.

Next up for the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA is a visit to Oulton Park for Rounds 13, 14 & 15 on June 21-22.

Sundays two races at the Cheshire venue will be broadcast live on free-to-air television in the UK on ITV4 and ITVX, while the action will be livestreamed outside the UK on the championships official YouTube channel.

Martin Molnár and Leo Robinson enjoyed a sensational Saturday at Thruxton Circuit as they mastered challenging weather conditions to claim a win apiece in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA.

On what proved to be an action-packed day around the fastest circuit in the country, Molnár (Virtuosi Racing) and Robinson (Hitech TGR) underlined their talents behind the wheel as they fought their way to the top step of the podium in races one and two respectively.

Track action around the 2.356-mile Hampshire venue began with Henry Joslyn (Fortec Motorsport) reigning supreme in qualifying, as he secured the C1RCUIT Watches Pole Position Award for topping the timesheets for the second time this season.

Blasting to the top of the times in the latter stages, Joslyn had enough pace in hand to clinch pole position for races one and three, while debutant Salim Hanna (Virtuosi Racing), Molnár, Fionn McLaughlin (Hitech TGR) and Ethan Jeff-Hall (Argenti Motorsport) completed the top five.

Sadly, Joslyn was unable to convert his front-row start into a long overdue win in race one as Molnár blasted from third to first on the opening lap; and from that point on he never looked back as a number of incidents played out behind him.

Jimmy Piszcyk (Rodin Motorsport) and Thomas Ingram Hill (Fortec Motorsport) found themselves in strife on lap one, before August Raber (Argenti Motorsport) lost a rear wheel at the chicane a few laps later and unfortunately collected Adam Al Azhari and Ella Lloyd (Rodin Motorsport) in the process.

That incident, along with rain beginning to fall, was enough to bring out the red flag and a ten-minute restart was declared.

When racing finally resumed, Molnár held firm out front ahead of fellow fast-starter Robinson, while Joslyn and McLaughlin scrapped for the final spot on the podium. The Red Bull Junior had found a way past at one stage, but post-race he was deemed to have gained an unfair advantage.

Unfortunately, the declining weather conditions saw a number of cars spin out of contention through the fast-sweeping curves of Goodwood, Village and Church which resulted in the safety car appearing once more. This time however, proceedings would not restart.

With the chequered flag being waved it guaranteed a first-ever win in the UK’s premier single-seater series for 2024 Rookie Cup champion Molnár ahead of Robinson and Joslyn whilst McLaughlin, Hanna and Theo Palmer (Xcel Motorsport) rounded out the top six. Rowan Campbell-Pilling (JHR Developments), debutant Ary Bansal (Fortec Motorsports), Tommy Harfield (Chris Dittmann Racing) and Xavier Avramides (Hitech TGR) – who had started at the back of the grid – filled out the remaining points-paying positions.

Heavy rainfall pushed back the start time for the day’s second race, but when the action did get underway, it was Chase Fernandez (Xcel Motorsport) that made the most of the clear road ahead to hold the lead early on.

Bearman was the first to take the fight to the Fernandez and managed to find a way past him just after mid-distance. Breaking clear to begin with, the Hitech TGR driver looked on course to clinch a maiden series win before Robinson started to become an ominous looming presence in his mirrors.

Making a bold move on his team-mate for the lead with just a few laps to go, Robinson assumed control out front and then started to break clear – ultimately taking the chequered flag by a little under two seconds ahead of Bearman, who finished a career-best second.

Completing the podium was the impressive Piszcyk with McLaughlin and Fernandez hot on his heels in fourth and fifth. Al Azhari tallied another top-six finish ahead of Hanna, who made it two Challenge Cup wins from two races on his debut.
