The reverse grid format has been amended for the 2022 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA season, which kicks off at Donington Park this weekend (23-24 April).
At each event, unless otherwise stated, the second race will see drivers compete on the reverse grid format. The race will see a reversal of the ten fastest overall qualifying times. The table below outlines the starting positions:
Qualifying Position | Starting Position in Race #2 |
1 | 10 |
2 | 9 |
3 | 8 |
4 | 7 |
5 | 6 |
6 | 5 |
7 | 4 |
8 | 3 |
9 | 2 |
10 | 1 |
The drivers who qualified outside of the top ten will start the second race based on their qualifying time.
The reduced points system previously in place, awarded 15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 on a sliding scale from first to eighth, will still be in place, as will a bonus point for each position gained, judged by the difference between a driver’s starting and finishing positions.
The grid for races one and three of each event will continue to be set by the fastest and second-fastest times set by each driver during qualifying. These races will continue to adhere to the FIA points system, awarded 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 on a sliding scale from first to tenth.
Additionally, a bonus point will remain in place for the driver who sets the fastest racing lap in all three races at each event.
