Zane Maloney has become the second F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost driver in as many weeks to be inducted into the BRDC’s prestigious Rising Stars programme.
The BRDC, founded in 1928, is one of the most prestigious and exclusive motor racing clubs in the world, with membership a highly sought-after accolade.
Following his interview at the Club’s HQ, based at Silverstone – home of the British Grand Prix – Maloney will now carry the famous blue roundel and be a part of a scheme designed to assist in the development of the next generation of motorsport stars.
His selection has been well-earned, with the Bajan racer currently 37 points clear at the top of the British F4 standings after seven race victories and a further three podiums in the Ford EcoBoost-powered series in 2019.
The championship battle resumes at Knockhill, Fife, next weekend, with just nine races left to run in one of the most competitive seasons to date.
“I’m honoured to be the first driver from the Caribbean to be welcomed into the British Racing Drivers Club’s prestigious Rising Stars scheme,” commented Maloney.
“Representing both the Club and Barbados in British F4 means a great deal to me – the British racing community has been incredibly supportive this season, as have all of my amazing fans back at home. I hope to make everyone proud as I continue my journey in motorsport.”
