Casper Stevenson hopes to be back fighting at the sharp end of the field after a tricky second meeting of the 2020 F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost season at Brands Hatch GP.
The Argenti Motorsport racer qualified inside the top five, 0.4 seconds adrift of pole-sitter Zak O’Sullivan, and went on to secure three points finishes – twice seventh and sixth in the ITV4-televised finale – to maintain his one-hundred percent scoring streak, the only driver left in the field to do so.
The Peak Performance Management-supported driver now sits sixth overall in the standings, just three points shy of Carlin’s Christian Mansell ahead.
Reflecting on the triple header in Kent, Stevenson believes qualifying further down than he’d have liked on a circuit where overtaking is notoriously difficult limited the weekend, but hopes to be back out in fighting form at Oulton Park in a fortnight.
“The weekend was tricky. After not qualifying well, it was never going to be a great weekend,” said Stevenson.
“It’s good that we are consistently scoring points but they are not big points.”
“Going into Oulton Park, hopefully the issues we have will be sorted and we can start fighting for the big points.”
Oulton Park’s 2.26-mile Island circuit hosts Rounds 7, 8 and 9 on 22-23 August.
