Fortec Motorsport’s Roberto Faria is looking forward to more thrilling wheel-to-wheel battles when the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost resumes after the summer break.
The Brazilian has established himself as one of the best overtakers amongst Ford’s rising stars so far in 2019, with a total of 20 positions gained from his starting slot in the opening five meetings.
The highlights include a charge through the field to fifth on the opening weekend at Brands Hatch, as well as further top-six finishes at both Donington Park and Thruxton.
He currently sits eleventh overall in the standings, 26 points adrift of Arden Motorsport’s Alex Connor ahead.
“It’s been a positive start to the season,” said Faria.
“The highlights would definitely have to be charging through the grid to top six finishes, as well as picking up consistent points at each of the five meetings so far.
“Both me and my team-mate Mariano have shown we’re among the best overtakers in the field, it’s been great to have so many wheel-to-wheel battles and I’m sure that’ll continue throughout the rest of the year.
“The goal coming back from the summer break is to keep pushing alongside everybody from Fortec Motorsport and hopefully take that first podium finish. We’ve done very well so far, and there’s a long way left to go, so we’ll aim to maximise each weekend between now and the end of the season and see where we end up.”
The F4 British Championship resumes at Snetterton, Norfolk, over the weekend of 3rd-4th August.
