Luke Browning is looking ahead to the future with optimism after a positive first season in the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost.
Linking up with returning outfit Richardson Racing last winter, the Ginetta Junior graduate stormed into Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series in sublime style, charging through the rain to victory in the season-opener at Brands Hatch.
He would add a further victory at Thruxton and podiums at Donington Park, Snetterton, Silverstone, before a hat-trick of silverware at the Brands GP finale helped Browning claim sixth overall in the standings.
Consistency played a strong part in that accomplishment too, with Browning amongst the points in 25 of the 30 races.
“This has certainly been an up and down season for me but on the whole, I think we can be happy with how it’s gone,” explained the Cheshire-based racer.
“In my first season in the series, and on the team’s return, we’ve been able to take race wins as a single-car team and have regularly challenged at the front of the field.
“It’s gone better than my first season in the Ginetta Junior Championship went, and I was able to build on that in season two and fight for the championship. Let’s see what the future holds from here…”
Whether the 17-year old will remain among Ford’s rising stars for 2020 remains to be seen; regardless, however, the future looks bright for Browning.
