Louis Foster underlined his happiness after hitting several personal targets in the first half of the 2019 F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost season, but knows he will need further improvement to take the title fight to Zane Maloney.
The Double R Racing has been a regular fixture on the podium so far this season, with six podiums – including three wins – from the opening fifteen Ford EcoBoost-powered contests in 2019.
Only Foster and current points leader Maloney have maintained a one-hundred percent record of scoring points, but crucially it is the extra four race wins for the Carlin racer than means Foster heads into the summer break 55 points adrift.
Foster is far from beaten, however, with a maximum score of 375 still on the table over the course of the rest of the season.
“The first half of the season has been absolutely amazing, I’ve already hit so many of the targets that I set myself for this season but now I’m looking to further improve as we hit the second half of the year,” explained Foster.
“The team have been fantastic all season and have given me a strong package at every track we’ve been to.
“The goal now is to continue picking up points and silverware and keeping pushing towards the ultimate goal of 2019 Champion.”
The F4 British Championship returns to action at Snetterton, Norfolk, over the weekend of 3rd-4th August.
