Kiern Jewiss is looking forward to plenty more entertainment in the British F4 iRacing Trophy after claiming a stellar podium in a nail-biting season opener at Donington Park.
Technical issues halted the FM Conway-backed racer’s charge in the first contest, but the 2018 champion made no mistake from reverse-grid pole position to open his silverware account for the virtual season.
Jewiss maintained the lead well from the start and put up a stellar fight against Fortec Motorsport’s Luke Browning. Browning dived to the inside of Jewiss at Redgate, but the British F3 race winner responded immediately to retake top spot down the Craner Curves.
Though Browning ultimately proved too tough to hold back, Jewiss’ podium keeps him at the sharp end of the points table in fourth as the series heads next to Brands Hatch (Indy) on Monday 4th May.
“It was great to get back to a bit of competitive racing on Monday night,” said Jewiss.
“I had a few technical issues which meant I had to play catch up in the first race, but I managed to come away with P2 in the reverse grid race and had a good laugh!”
“It was cool to race against some of my old rivals and the new guys coming through so hopefully there’s plenty more entertainment ahead.”
