Fortec Motorsport will welcome back Roberto Faria for this weekend’s F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost season finale at Brands Hatch.
The Brazilian contested a part-season this year in Britain’s FIA Formula 4 series, taking his maiden pole position and two podiums, before graduating with the Daventry-based outfit to British Formula 3.
His success in the category has been meteoric ever since, culminating a maiden podium finish at Silverstone during last weekend’s season finale around the GP circuit.
His return boosts Fortec’s hopes of claiming a first Teams Cup title, and could provide crucial support at the sharp end of the field to their title hopeful, Luke Browning.
Brands Hatch’s 1.19-mile Indy circuit was a happy hunting ground for Faria on his last visit in 2019, the 16-year old claiming a hat-trick of top-ten finishes, including a notable fifth place in the reverse grid contest.
The GP loop, meanwhile, was the scene of his career-best result of second place during August’s triple-header in Kent.
“I’m really pleased to be back on the British F4 grid with Fortec Motorsport for the final round of the 2020 season this weekend,” said Faria.
“The team have a fantastic opportunity to secure the Teams Cup this weekend, and I’m looking forward to playing a part in helping to bring that home.
“Luke also has a great chance of winning the overall championship, so fingers crossed, it should be a great weekend.”
“It was an absolute no-brainer to put Roberto back in the car for the season finale,” explained Oliver Dutton, Fortec’s F4 Team Manager.
“He’s a proven front-runner, and will provide really useful back-up for Luke, and for our Teams Cup title bid.
“Brands Hatch has been one of his strongest circuits in the past, and he’s arriving on a high after some excellent results in British F3 recently, so hopefully that momentum carries across and it’s a weekend to remember for the team.”
