30 JULY, 2017 – Linus Lundqvist kicked off the second half of the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost campaign with a pair of podium finishes at Snetterton this weekend.
The Swedish Double R Racing ace powered to third place in both the first and third race of the meeting, completing his score with a P5 result in the reverse-grid Race two.
Lundqvist also set the fastest lap of the final race, and remains third in the overall drivers’ championship with 17 out of the season’s 30 races completed.
“It’s been a decent weekend, neither more nor less,” said Lundqvist. “My target at this stage of the season is to win as many races as possible, but I think a pair of podiums still marks a good way to kick off the second half of the year.”
Lundqvist’s Snetterton weekend was hampered to some degree by a number of technical glitches, complicating matters in two of the three races.
“We probably had a few issues too many to really achieve our full potential this weekend,” Lundqvist concludes. “It was nothing major. I did manage to adapt my driving to compensate for most of it, and we did set the fastest lap in Race three, so I think we could have challenged for victory on a faultless day. Three top five finishes mean a lot of good points for the championship, though, so I’m reasonably pleased.”
The next rounds of the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost takes place at Knockhill in Scotland on 12-13 August.
