DRIVER NEWS 10 AUGUST, 2015 – Dan Ticktum, racing for Fortec Motorsport, took a win and two podiums at Snetterton Circuit in the MSA Formula this weekend. It was the perfect way to bounce back after Dan was excluded from the results at Croft in the last round.
Dan’s weekend got off to a solid start as he set the third fastest time of the qualifying session putting him on the second row of the grid for Race 1 and Race 3. In Race 1 Dan immediately put pressure on the drivers ahead of him, passing title rival Lando Norris on the first lap and then forcing Colton Herta into a mistake at Brundle on lap 2. The Fortec Motorsport driver kept his head to take an impressive win.
In the reverse-grid race Dan started in tenth but by the second lap he was already up to fifth. He made some excellent moves on Enaam Ahmed and Tarun Reddy to further progress through the field. Herta took the victory, but Dan finished an impressive second to collect more vital championship points. The final race of the weekend saw Dan take the offensive in the opening laps as he challenged Norris for second. Despite having a broken front wing, Dan showed great pace, but could not find a way past the leaders. He finished third completing his hat-trick of podiums.
Dan Ticktum: “It was important to have a good weekend, especially having been excluded from the Croft races; I felt I answered a lot of questions with my victory in the first race. The car felt good and I was very happy with our pace throughout the weekend.”
