Alex Connor happy with early strides as progress continues

Alex Connor is happy with his development strides after a positive start to life in the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost.

Connor, absent from the season-opener due to his age, joined the Ford EcoBoost-powered field at Donington Park three weeks later, bringing home three top five finishes on his debut for Arden Motorsport.

The YRDA member has continued to score points in every race but one since, whilst also amassing nine podium finishes in the Rookie Cup, including a first class win to close the gap in the standings.

Looking ahead to the series’ resumption at Snetterton in early August, Connor is aiming for a first trip to the overall podium and to continue his form in the Rookie stakes.

“The first half of my rookie season has been very positive, I have really enjoyed my first taste of single seating racing and feel I have made big improvements in both race craft and technical skill with each outing,” explained Connor.

“Although missing the first three races of the season because I was not 15 until after Brands Indy has put me on the back-foot as far as championship points are concerned, I’m pleased with my results so far, having already secured a win, four second places and four third place finishes in the Rookie Cup.

“Oulton Park was my best round so far, as I was able to mount my strongest challenge to date and joined the leading pack. I’m really looking forward to the second half of the season, to racing at Snetterton, Knockhill and Silverstone for the first time and to appearing on the overall podium as well as maintaining a strong challenge for Rookie honours.

“I would like to thank my parents, sponsors Eurolever, Xpert Learning and North West Reclamation as well as the Arden Motorsport team for their continued support.”

Snetterton marks the start of the second half of the 2019 campaign on 3rd-4th August.
